OFF THE HOOK TUBE FLY VISE

Rotating Vise Head

The vise head can be rotated, by loosening the knob on the riser, to allow the tube to be finished. Using the bottom of the flame produces a cleaner melt. When tying on a needle, let the tube cool slightly, then push the needle through the warm tube to insure a clean hole. When tying on a rigid plastic tube held directly in the jaws, push the needle in from the front while the tube is warm.

Full Rotation Tube Vise

On axis rotation, provides full rotation for wrapping materials, as well as inspection from all sides.

Price: $140

Adaptable Riser Stem

The riser stem, (available separately), works with traditional vises with a 3/8th inch diameter stem. This moves the vise and fly closer to the tier for added comfort, and provides an unobstructed area below the vise.

Price: $30

Tube Fly Adapter

Adaptor clamps securely in any fly tying vise. A delrin bushing provides smooth 360 degree, on axis, rotation, as well as most of the features found on the vise.

Price: $80

The vise works very well with available tapered pins and needles for two tube Scandinavian style tubes.

Rigid plastic tubes can reasonably be tied to one inch long without a needle or mandrill. The hollow vise center allows full length tubing to be fed through back for reduced waste...tie, cut, tie, cut...

Holds rigid plastic tubing, (HMH, Eumer etc.), without a mandrel.

This fly was tied on soft Frodin tubing using a mandrel for support, note that the tube is held in the vise. Tube length is two inches.

Holds metal tubing up to over 1/8th inch.

Holds metal bodies to over 1/8th inch.

Holds single soft plastic tube, (F.I.T.S.), on most tapered needles.

Holds soft tube on a needle, note the tube is held in the jaws, no spinning!
